I am currently a college student renting a house in Wisconsin. It is a very old home with many problems. Recently our 2nd floor bathtub faucets have been leaking. We've tryed everything to stop this. It's been running down cracks and started leaking through the ceiling panels on the 1st floor. Our landlord knows about this problem and has done nothing to fix it.

I am very concerned about mold since i have bad allergy and sinus problems. Is this something a landlord is respondible to fix?? Or do i just have to suffer through being sick all the time? (we have 4 buckets under the celing right now to catch the water) (It's a lot of water!) If she wont fix it, is there some kind of renter regulation place we can report this to?

Please help! What is your next step??

weird question, i know. my son thought it would make a cool design in the silly puddy if he put it on the remote. well oops, it didnt all come off. he tried using a wet cloth to wipe it off before i found out but that just made it worse. its stuck all over most of the buttons. i tried picking it off but it was no use, i finally gave up. i was able to scratch some of it off now that its dry but most of it still wont come off. we are going to be switching cable companies soon, so when we turn the remote back in im afraid they'll charge us to replace it. any ideas?

I'm considering getting one of those CompostTumblers (the name brand ones, not a knock-off). I've been getting info in the mail on them for years and they look really great... IF everything they say about them is true. But I am really more interested in knowing what actual PEOPLE think about them. Do you have one? Does it work as easy/well as they say it does? Would you suggest it? Have you had problems with one? Etc? Or... do you have a cheaper suggestion that works well? No compost piles or other hard-work/stinky options. Thanks!

Hi --
I would like to put some ceramic tile above a backsplash behind my stove. This would be the area above th formica backsplash, beneath the kitchen hood and underneath the adjoining cabinents.

My thought is to lay the tile directly on the wall - which is a combinations of plaster, and built up wallboard (very smooth and even), with the edges trimmed in bullnose tile.

I really don't want to add the 1/2 inch for backerboard or rip the plaster out to get the joists.

How well would it work laying the tile directly onto the old plaster and built-up wallboard?

Thanks.

I kept the soil moist like it said in the instructions they came with, they bloomed, and then the petals died. I've never had tulips before (obviously), so I have no idea what to do. Do I keep watering? Should I replant outside? Please help.

I have camelia plants with different flower colors in the backyard. I want to graft them so that one plant will produce many color flowers. They bloom in the winter and spring. Grafting should be done when the plant is dormant.
What season should I do the grafting?
Thanks.
