When my home was built 12 years ago, the builder planed three small Oaks in the front yard. Due to some erosion and lack of grass, one trees roots are exposed right where I want to create a paver walkway.

I can't build the walkway up because it is adjacent to the driveway and I want it to be level with the driveway (not a trip hazard).

Should I start cutting the roots so that I can lower the path? It seems that I'd need to get down 5" or so, to place a marle foundation for the pavers.

I think this would represent a tremendous amount of work! Are there any tools that would help? Could I kill the tree if I cut through some roots?

Thanks.

Has anyone ever seen NICE outdoor lighting (something like fairy lights or Xmas tree lights or lanterns) that is battery powered? Maybe using a torch battery or similar??? It is about 5 metres from my house to my gazebo - extension cords are ugly and are tricky with kids around.

If so, what concentration did you use, and did you just let it dry, or did you wipe it off after several minutes? I need to kill this kind of mold on the cardboard & paper covers of LP albums that came from a tropical country. (Cleaning the LP's themselves is no problem.) Please, no guesswork.

These are just ordinary run-of-the-mill non-leather shoes and I want to clean and polish them but am out of shoe polish. Are there any good household products I can use instead?

Its 2 or 3 small spots (my nails weren't as dry as I thought) and I smeared one spot a little while trying to wipe it off the comforter.

I bought enough of this cheap laminate flooring from Lowe's to cover my small room. On the inside of the box it shows how shorter boards are placed next to longer boards to give a stepping effect. Is this required for this type of laminate or can they just be placed side by side? Does stepping give the floor added strength? Thanks.

I was given tulips for Valentines...but they are now past their prime! I want to save the bulbs...do you simply cut the stems off?

Also, is it OK to now plant them outside (they came in a planter) and will they bloom again? Or should I wait until next year to plant them?

If I need to store them until next year, what is the best way??? Wrapped in newspaper???

This sounds like the product I've been looking for all my life! Obviously it's on sale in the U.S. but I live in Ireland. Is it on sale here under a different name, would anyone know? If it's not would some enterprising young importer please bring it in - you would make a fortune cos we ALL want it!

I am looking at IKEA.com and I cannot find a duvet cover. Instead, the directed me to a bunch of "quilt covers." What is a quilt cover? And can I use it for my down comforter?

I have this strange obsession with pomegranates, and I was curious if I could actually grow such a tree/bush in my current area of occupation. The weather ranges from 80 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer to as low as 5 in the winter (but the average has been about 20 this year go figure) I also live close to the water. I was looking it up online and came to the conclusion that I could, but would most probably have to care for it indoors, but I was curious if anyone with a bit more knowledge on trees or bushes, could let me know if it would be possible to grow outside. Thanks in advanced for your time.
