our stair case has acrylic white paint on the risers. Is there a coating i could apply to protect against scuf

I don't know about a coating, but I have the same problem and what I have done is paint the risers in high gloss paint. It's much easier to clean (I use a Magic Eraser) and has stayed scuff-free for 2+ years (which is a record in my house.)

YOU ARE GOING TO HATE MY ANSWER. POLYEURETHANE--SEVERAL COATS. DO EVERY OTHER TREAD TIL YOU GET 5 COATS DONE, THEN DRY IT AND DO THE OTHER ONES. YOU CAN ALSO CONTACT (ONLINE)TO FIND A PRODUCT THAT SEALS FASTER. OR PUT PRETTY CARPET UP THE WHOLE STAIRCASE.
