My lawn is over grown with weeds. What can I do or what product can I use to get rid of them without killing or replanting all the grass?

I'm trying to install a Lil'Mynx Rotating Strip/Dance Pole. Suggestions welcome.?

Hello. I am a professional dancer, who is at my wits end trying to install my new dance pole. The apartment I rent from has vaulted ceilings with metal layered between the sheet rock and the joists. For whatever reason, my joist finder is giving me inaccurate readings. At first I thought it might be the popcorn ceiling that was affecting the joist finder. I am still unsure if this is affecting it as well. I really don't want to blindly drill holes in my ceiling anymore and I can't seem to find anyone who installs any sort of dance equipment in the phone book.

Every time I drill into the ceiling I hit metal. The metal bits can drill past it, but instead of finding a joist like the finder suggests, there is empty space.

Are there any repair men or women out there who can help me sort this out?

Thank you
Evalynn

Thanks for your previous answers but I need to give more detail.
The header tank is overflowing, the water in the tank is warm, it is not entering the header tank via the ball valve and it is not entering the tank via the expansion pipe from the hot water cylinder down stairs (ie the pipe that is bent over in a 'U' shape about 2" from the surface of the water). Checked the thermostat it is ok and adjusted to 50c. The water is entering the header tank from a copper pipe that is in the bottom of the tank. When I shine a torch through the water to the bottom of the tank I can see a 'heat haze' effect (ie the hot water entering the tank) comming from this pipe at the bottom of the tank. ? It is obviously connected to the hot water tank downstairs by why is hot water syphioning up this pipe into the header tank ?

How important is it to buy a slider model? How is it better? I am looking to buy my first miter saw and am getting exhausted from reading everyone's reviews. This saw will play an important part in my new home workshop. Please advise me. So far, construction friends have pushed me toward DeWalt. I'm not going to be using it a lot so durability and protability aren't important to me. I want to ge tthe most accuracy, flexibility and reliability for my buck. Ryobi, Hitachi, Craftsman, Rigid, Delta, DeWalt? Weigh in on this one, you guys.

It is 36'' wide not raised, floor level. I want it to pass the code if I sell the house. I don't have a permit that's why I am not calling the village.
I am guessing 18'' ? also how far past the sides?
Thanks

I saw two baby raccoons tonight up top a huge palm tree, this palm tree has never been trimmed so it has thick dead thorny branches from the base all the way to the top where the new branches are groing. Does any one know about how well raccoons are at climbing and if so can they make it back down? I dont want to call the fire department! Thanks

I have a new flat top stove that I recently melted part of my sleeve on. I can NOT get the melted part off - nylon/polyester... I am not supposed to use anything that would scratch it. I have the special cleaner that is recommended and a rubber scraping tool - some has come off but the majority is still there. HELP!!

I don't want to waste a can of Pepsi (and maybe it's a home remedy which is supposed to work but actually doesn't) but does it REALLY help clean the toilet and help get rid of smells?

I have a down comforter, however, after a while the side I use loses it fluffiness and the other side becomes extra-fluffy. To prevent it, I just switch the sides but how can I prevent this from happening again? Honestly, this has been bothering me for quite some time. Thanks!

I have a tear shaped like a "7" in the outer shell of my ski jacket - each arm of the tear is 2-3 inches long. Is there any way to fix it? Sewing doesn't seem like it would work as the fabric is so thin.
