We recently built a recreational home that's only used on weekends and the heating of it (60) is running high $$.( It's well insulated) (2300 sq ft) Is there a solar system that we could do ourselves, low cost (under $500), and that would be removable in the warmer months?

I just moved into this house and I don't know how old the water heater is or if it has a history of repair. I have it set at 130, but a long shower and the water just goes cold? Is there something I can do other than replace it?

My Roomate and I live in South Carolina where it doesn't get cold we just recived our gas bill for $500. Heat is the only thing gas powered and we rarley run it. Last month our bill was $150 for ten days of heating a gas leak was repaired but it did not help our bill. Its not estimated. Its a small apartment. Its "newly renovated" (by monkeys). Our landlord will not pay for the cost of last months gas leak which was caused by not putting a cap on the end of a gas pipe which had been disconnected. What do we do?

My Cherry tree was a really great fruit barer, but last year, the main trunk died and about 4 new ones grew up from the root. They are now too 10ft each. Should I cut the old trunk out or what. Please help me. Thanks

I want to buy all new bakeware at a moderate price, but I want to get really good stuff that will last a long time and that is pretty easy to clean. I don't bake a lot, so I don't need every piece in the world - just the basic stuff.

What brand should I look for? Features?

Also, has anyone tried the flexible bakeware (I think by kitchenaid - it's red)? Do you like it?

I live alone & this winter is frigid! But is $214 a reasonable monthly bill? I don't think so. I run the heat at about 75 at night and turn it down to 65 during the day. I used to turn it off for the day, but the heating bill didn't seem much lower. The windows seem OK. And we have a a sliding patio door, but I rarely go out there, esp. in the winter. Can I cover this door somehow? What else can I do to save money?

I Love the music from wind chimes no matter what they are playing. Did you know they never repeat the same tune, so when you hear the chimes just know it will never be played the exact same way again.

My favorite is the Bamboo, I wish there were some way to keep them from falling apart!

I have a 4 wire heat/cool thermostat that I moved the wire to another room and when I relocated the wires I think the wires touched together as there was a small spark. When I hooked it back up, I can hear the thermostat kick on but the heat nor the air comes on at all. Any suggestions

We are going to be tiling around a whirlpool tub in the next few weeks and I saw some glass tiles that looked really sharp but nobody I know has ever worked with glass tile so we're looking for opinions from people who have worked with it before and if they are for or against it.

We are working in a 6 feet by 13 feet space for a friend of mine putting in a complete bathroom/shower in the basement. She wanted it done and hubby is not working because of the weather. She wanted him to do it We started from scratch. She is paying for the materials, however, since we had to start from scratch, how much can we fairly charge her for the labor? We never had to start from scratch before. Thats why I am asking.

I was throwing my cell phone up in the air and dropped it in the trap. How do I get the glue off? I tried alcohol and nail polish remover, but they don`t work. Any other suggestions?
