I have a down comforter, however, after a while the side I use loses it fluffiness and the other side becomes extra-fluffy. To prevent it, I just switch the sides but how can I prevent this from happening again? Honestly, this has been bothering me for quite some time. Thanks!

Put it in the dryer with a couple of tennis balls and fluff it on NO HEAT for approx. 30 minutes.

To prevent it, don't sit on the comforter.

To restore it (or attempt to), call the manufacturer for advice, or have it cleaned professionally. If that's not possible and the fabric is washable and there are no holes in it, you can try washing it in an EXTRA-LARGE, COMMERCIAL FRONT-LOADING washer at a laundromat with cool water and Woolite. Dry it in an EXTRA-LARGE, COMMERCIAL dryer on LOW or NO heat. Put 3-4 tennis balls into 3-4 white socks (knot each so they don't come out) in the dryer too, so to help with the fluffing and separating. It will take a LONG TIME to dry, but it should be light and evenly distributed when it's done.

I shake mine every day as I make it. Someone suggested having some extra baffles sown into it to keep the down from migrating. I also use 2-3 tennis balls in the dryer on NO HEAT for 10-15 minutes and it works great. You can use the tennis balls for drying pillows too so they don't get lumpy.

i have one too and my housekeeper fluffs it every day (shakes it out) and on sunny days takes it outside and fluffs it there and sets it out in the sun/wind. it could also be the stitching on your comforter thats causing it to lose fluff. most down comforters have patches of squares individually filled with down. if the down can get through the stitching or there simply isnt any stitching, the down will just slide throughout the comforter. if you have this you might be out of luck for fluff...so in the future think about one from the company store, which i've found to never defluff. otherwise, just switch sides every day and shake it out often. good luck!

There's not a whole lot you can do. They make down comforters with lots of squares sown in them, to keep the feathers where they should be. Can you sew? :\ Sorry, just have to keep switching sides, or get rid of it and get one with the square pockets.

Shake it baby, shake it! Down is feathers and it needs some air to fluff it up!
