Have you ever seen them mate?

The hens get chased all around the farmyard until the rooster finally catches them, and struts on each for about two seconds. before moving on to the next hen.

With ducks, one wanders into a thatch of reeds. Then, 20 or 30 male ducks pop out of nowhere, and mob her all at once, each taking about a minute, they often end up going at it two at a time. Hours later, the she-duck, beaten, and bruised, nearly drowned, with ruffled feathers slowly pedals her way out of the reeds, coughs up a gallon of water, preens her feathers, grabs a fish to get her energy back, and then goes back into the thatch of reeds for some more.

Obviously then, the hens make more noise because they aren't used to taking a beating down there, so it hurts them more to lay an egg. The ducks get so roughed up they probably can't hardly feel the egg come out.

Aside from both being birds, ducks and chickens are not really closely related. Ducks are bigger birds, newly hatched ducks are bigger than newly hatched chicks, and so the duck eggs are larger. The largest eggs are probably ostrich eggs.
Eggs commonly eaten include chicken eggs, duck eggs, and quail eggs, but almost any egg is edible.
All birds lay eggs, and most make different sounds.

You will agree with me when I say that lion is smaller than elephant yet a lion's roar can be heard for 4 miles. So, size has nothing to do with the sound.
