they are white and im washing at home i collect the cloths my self i have a front loading washer with a glass door so i know its completely empty when i remove the cloths. we have a screen on the vent so if it were going into the vent it would stop it up and like i said my husband moves the dryer and takes it completely apart every few months to clean it. its 10 years old and runs like a brand new one

I have had this problem for years. I just KNOW it's the aliens checking on us. Elvis told them to leave me alone recently, so I haven't had this problem for a while.
The best way to make sure that you never lose socks again: when you take them off, put them in a mesh laundry bag. My friends who have done this have stopped losing socks completely! Maybe the aliens are allergic to netting material....

I lose a few socks a year, but I have never noticed any washcloths missing. Funny though, I have noticed that ALL of the socks I have lost were DARK in color (probably left them at the laundromat because I didn't see them still inside the dark washer or dryer). My washcloths, however, are all light in color, so I would never accidentally leave them behind. What colors are your missing socks and washcloths?

Well i do, but its simply due to the fact that you are missing a sock in the first place. Thats what happens to me. Although there is a possibility that they get sucked into the dryers vent. Personally that has never happened to me before, but it could.

i'm not sure in spite of the undeniable fact that it bugs the crap out of me. I swear the South Park sock gnomes are real! now and back knee socks in my drawer will nevertheless in basic terms disappear! in many circumstances I wait too long to do my laundry nonetheless which contributes to dropping those dam socks.

I do too, I guess when you are getting ready to do laundry, make sure both socks are in the same load. You could even pin them together with a safety pin. I've read about doing this but haven't tried it myself, I probably should.

The answer would be the same as the number of people that wear socks and clothes or at least that bother to wash them. lol

I am missing 1 sock. Never saw it happen until recently, or else they went away in pairs so I never noticed. But now... 1 is gone.

i don't even bother trying to put them in pairs any more. i buy all dark socks anyhow so these days i just open a drawer and grab the nearest two - they're usually pretty close.

If you ever go to a laundromat there are people that have a sock or pantie fetish.
If you leave and come back, they sometimes will take a "souvenir".
