i just installed a new circuit with a new 20amp breaker with #12 romex. Black wire goes to the breaker, white to the bus line. i just connected the third line, the bare line to the box, but it did not feel correct to me. should i have connected it to the same nuetral bus line with the other white line too? i did not see any connection where other bare lines went. This is a subpanel with an existing 220 line. My new breaker and line is 110v.

We want to install a mail slot rather than a mail box. We want to find out if US postal service will accept this - is there a minumum slot size? Must the slot open inwards, not outwards? It may sound weird, but we don't want to cut a hole in the porch to find out its wrong. And we don't want to inconvenience our mail man. I will be asking our mail man next time I see him, but it's nice to also have the official word. I searched USPS.com already, to no avail.

How can I get ride of them with out cemicals? We just moved in and they are comming up from around my kitchen sink but I can not see under the sink were they are. We don't have food left out but they are everyware. I have tried to put a line of flour down in the the crack around the sink but they just did out. I am asking for no chemicals because we have a 7 year old and a 7 month old, but if you know of anything that will not harm them that would be grate too.

We bought a house that has a living room with a two-story high ceiling. Halfway up the walls (where a regular ceiling might be) there is a cornice (I guess that is what it is called -- it is an architectural detail that extends about an inch out from the wall and is about three inches high. There are actually two of them, side-by-side, extending around the room, with a three-inch flat part between the two).

I have no idea how to paint this room. Should I paint the whole wall (including the cornice) one color? Should I paint a different color above the cornice and on the ceilings? Should I paint the walls the same color, but paint the cornice a different color? I know the colors I like (sage greens, tans, browns, etc) -- and then I planned to paint the ceiling a beige color. However, the walls and this cornice thing have me stumped.

I am trying to find information about watering your lawn. I have found information about watering your lawn at night and such. But cannot find anything about how much water your need to water your lawn in the middle of the day and how much water is wasted.

The project that I am working on is trying to BAN watering your lawn in the middle of the day because it wastes water.

If you have any information about watering your lawn or any interesting facts please let me know.

I have a half-wall with thin (1/16" thick) cork tiles glued to it. I've already stripped off the cork tiles and now Im left with a wall that has old dryed brown glue stuck to it. I need to keep the wall in tact so that I can texture and paint it afterwards. What is the easiest and safest way to remove this glue while meeting the above criteria?

I have a Salisbury bone china plate, pattern name "Spring" in excellent condition but, despite searching on the Internet and Ebay, I can find no mention of this design from Salisbury china. My next step is to have it professionally valued by an auction house but this will cost money - can you advise me where I might find out some information on this (apparently) rare piece of china from a well-known factory. P.S. I don't think Salisbury China factory still exists, so I can't ask them!
All answers gratefully received.

I really hate spending more money than necessary. I don't like spending money on the tiny little bottles of rinse aid for my dishwasher. Vinegar works to get streaks off of glass, so why wouldn't it work for my dishes?

I know, it sounds impossible, but for me, it's not. LOL My cat knocked them into the toilet and I flushed it before I realized it. Now I have to retrieve them.

So what do I need to do to get them out? Help please.....
