I have a one solid piece of vinyl in my bathroom that is faded but installed solid. I bought some 12 X 12 self adhesive tiles to install. I want to stick them to the existing vinyl flooring without putting another sheet of luan plywood down. What should I do to prep the existing vinyl floor so that the tiles stick well? Anyone ever done this before? Let me know.

I've had this issue for long enough. I constantly have to buy new sweaters because after I wash them they shrink, and no longer fit. How can I prevent this from happening?

I can't afford dry cleaning (just for your knowledge).

Love their detergent but by the time you pay shipping costs it is way too expensive. Is there a detergent that works as well? Tide, Gain, Cheer do not come anywhere close to being as good as Amway's.

My breakers are 15 amp breakers (fairly new) and whenever I use the electric heater which happens to be one of the most efficient heaters on the market today that uses very little electricity. It always trips my breakers, I have some electrical experience (enough to be dangerous) and I've installed breakers before my question is can I upgrade to 20 amp breakers from 15 amp for the zones that have heaters and would that be safe?

I have a 277 v. light that has (2) 32 watt 4 pin lamps. Right now it has (2) ballasts and I would like to make it a (1) ballast fixture. Each lamp socket has 2 red wires and 2 blue wires. I bought a new ballast that is supposed to be rated for two 32 w. 4 pins. The ballast has 6 stab terminals, 2 blues, 2 yellows and 2 reds, along w/ h,n,g. The fixture does not have any yellow wires. I'm wondering if I can make it work, or if I need to stay with the 2 ballast system. If anyone can answer this but needs more info, you can email bighitter0008@yahoo.com. Thank you.

My ceilings are 16 feet high, and I thought it would be fun to have a little nest-like thing that I can climb into. Maybe there's a website or something that would point me in the right direction?

We are trying to work with what we have and its pretty difficult. I have 70's style orange countertops and darker wood cabinets. What color do you think would look good on the walls? We think white is the only color, but I want some color. Also, what color would you use for cabinet handles? I think silver, he thinks black.

My bathroom has white tile and whit grout..well it's supposed to be white but it's really hard to keep it that way. Is it possible to dye it or something...also, can you paint tile and put some sort of sealant on it to keep the design protected? If you can answer either question that would be awesome.

We've just moved into a house with the 70's green vinyl flooring in the bathroom. It's in great condition but it's ugly! We want to do an under the sea theme for our son, and I would like to paint the floor to look the bottom of an ocean floor.
We're remodeling the kitchen right now- so putting a new floor in the bathroom is not in the budget for a year or so.
Please don't just say yes or no- I'd like to know reasons. Thanks!

It can be brushed off and looks and feels a bit like dirt, but it's not! My point is that it's not actually eaten into the leaves, more like on the under surface. The plant isn't dying but doesnt really appear to be thriving either! It just stays the same really, I don't know anything about ivy, could someone tell me what this could be and how to get rid of it? Could i wipe this 'stuff' off the leaves or would I have to treat it in some way?thanks

My daughter is 7 months and breastfeed. What can I use to get ride of the stain from when she leaks (we change clothes about 5 times a day due to this and now everything is stained) and when she explodes when I change her dippie. I am on a budget so those nice stain removers are not that handy. Right now I fill up the bathroom sink with cold water and wash them with dish soap and then leave them to soak untill I go to the laundry mat. (yes no washer either). And they still come out stained Any ideas?

I recently bought a DIY dresser from a store, brought it home, stained it and polyurethaned it. Now it stinks! I can't use it because the smell permeates the clothes! Does anyone know the easiest way to get rid of the smell? I aired it out in the sun last fall for about two weeks, and it still smells. Any ideas?

Has anyone ever heard of sheet garters, and if so, where can I find some? All of the fitted sheets I puchase have a tendency to either be too large or too small. This problem either causes the sheet to slip off the matress or to bunch up and wrinkle which makes it difficult to rest well. I have tried pinning the sheets to the matress using safety pins but they really damage the linen.

On 1/2 of a room that was paneled we have wallpaper with lining under it and on the bottom the paneling is still showing through but we painted it. I like the look of beadboard and am wondering if we can install it over the bottom 1/2 on top of the paneling and how would it look? Am wondering if anyone has already done this and how did it look for you?
