I have the above floor cleaner and when I first got it, worked fine...the last couple times I have used it when its set to carpet, then it starts out working fine and then starts making a very weird sound (like it may be "eating": something, like it gets stuck in a position) but the roller bar is clear. i shut it off, start it again and it works fine for a few more minutes the the cycle starts over.

As I said this only happens when it is set to carpet mode, for bare floors and to use the hose it works fine. think is when I try to do the carpets on bare floor mode it wont pick up anything 9not sure how it knows since it does pick up on bare floors) but in any case

Yes I bought it new (well it was on clearance)...no I didnt fill out the warranty card (I was in a transitional period and actually it stayed in my storage facility for about 6 months) and then when I started to use it it would have been past the waaranty period anyway(give or take a couple months).
anyone have fix?

I have a 20" Tile cutter and says it will cut my 13 1/4 inch tiles diagonally. Every time I try it breaks off the corners. I called the company and they are no help. I managed to get 1 diagonal piece out of 5 tiles. Any help?

I have timers to control the christmas lights. I use them to time the humidifier etc. These work great. But the only problem is that they are something which goes into the wall electric outlet. I can then plug in any lamp, humidifier etc. But what about the lights which do not have a plug and have a switch installed? I can take out the wall switch and put a kind of timer? What is such a timer called? How much does it cost and how easy and risky is it to install it?

Thanks so much

I planted these last spring and they are planted in soil that was tilled with manure and mushroom compost, they were watered very well over the summer and now they look like this?
Is this how they are suppose to look in winter?
I think they are "Leather Leaf Viburnums".
I thought they were suppose to be evergreen or are they maybe what is called "semi-evergreem"?

I'm thinking about installing a ceiling fan, but our ceilings have popcorn on them. Does that type of disturbance release enough asbestos to be concerned about?

I want to update my kitchen, however I am unsure of what paint to use etc. Do you have to sand first, or will just applying primer do the job?
I have honey oak cupboards and I want to paint them a winter white or light beige. Does anyone have any suggestions on what kind of paint I would need for this?
thanks

My house was built 3 years ago with radiant floor heating in my basement which is living quarters. In the event of a power outage during a winter storm, my heating system would not run. What I need is ball park figure of the time that it would take to start freezing the water lines that are constructed within the cement slab floor. A brief outage obviously would be no problem. Lets say that at 10 F. the ice covered electric lines took 12 hours to get up and running. Probably, still cool. But at what length of time should I seriously consider going into debt for a generator? I'd rather buy a new genny than replace a radiant heating system. Or some Kerosone heaters to put on basement floor? We can survive without electric and provide some heat for the house for a few days but what would the danger be the the floor pipes freezing up because the water is not flowing. I have two non-electric heating devices for a 44x28 house, furnished basement & main floor. How prepared do I need to be?

Our hallway is wood floor. It doesn't squeak but no matter if you tiptoe, have socks on to muffle the sound, or walk very slowly, the floor catches ever step you make and wakes the kids when they are sleeping. We have no choice as to walk by their rooms to get to our room or the bathroom. Even tried shutting their door, doesn't work, they still hear us, they are not light sleepers that is about the only thing that wakes them. And then they get upset. How can we keep our noisy feet from waking the kids?

Please don't be rude...

after pushing very hard, the pipe went into the fitting. to take it out, i had to rock it from side to side or hit it with a putty knife to get it out. Is it normal? or maybe when i cut the pipe with the tube cutter, the pipe became out of round? i thought i cut it very slowly already. i used the 4in1 tool already and it was still very tight. should i hit them in with a block of wood or something? any good advise out there? thanks.

It seems to grow more like a groundcover than a shrub. They say it should get to a 4x4 size, yet it seems to be growing mainly like a groundcover.
If it is a groundcover mostly, I need to move it where it wil be suited. any comments?
