I have a 20" Tile cutter and says it will cut my 13 1/4 inch tiles diagonally. Every time I try it breaks off the corners. I called the company and they are no help. I managed to get 1 diagonal piece out of 5 tiles. Any help?

Possibly a dull blade (yes even a diamond blade gets dull eventually) or your tray is not exactly square as many are not, try replacing the blade if it is old also instead of using your trays grooves to make a diagonal cut try marking the tile across and lay it on the tray and freehand it. Good luck!

I would start on one side and flip the tile around and do the other side. GO SLOW and make sure there is plenty of water running through the saw. it just takes patience. the reason the tile is chipping is probably because the tile doesnt have any support on that longer dimension. It just takes a lot of practice. thats why you should always plan to buy extra tiles cause they will break.

I assume you are trying to use one of the cheapy "score and crack" type tile cutters. Get hold of a decent wet saw and that should solve your problem. You can rent one at Home Depot.

You need to score the corners and slow down the cutting speed and make sure water is flowing.
