Is it better looking in the winter too?

k heres the deal...a 19 year old girl moved in to the apt next to mine. she also works at the same place i do but has different hours, so she knows what times i'm not home. since she moved in i have noticed things missing like money and small things. last week while i was home she was visiting and she stole a pack of smokes. did i say that she has no money and her water is shut off?? she told people at work that she was taking showers at my house. i had no clue she was doing that i had to put a lock on my computer so she would not use it. i can't lock my door it is a sliding glass door and the lock is broke i don't live in a bad part of town so i thought nothing of it. my landlord is going to fix the door but i don't know when..what should i do

thanks

on how to compost. I have moved into a house with a compost bin so figure I should get composting. Is it as easy as just chucking in all my food scraps or is there more to it than that?

If there are different layers, could you please list them in order and give a possible time frame? Ta.

(Its a rental property so i don't want to start messing around with it too much)

I am remodeling my relatives house and will be refinishing the floors. The floors are 2" oak tongue and groove and have that orange look to them. She wants them a darker color.
My question is what grit do I start and finish with when sanding down to the bare wood?
And is there a pattern for sanding it such as diagonally or with the grain or across?
Is an oil stain the best to use and is it typically rolled, brushed, or sprayed on?

Any other advice you can give me would be great. Please don't say to hire someone, thats not an option and I'm not a typical beginner.
Thankyou all.

My neighbour is planning an extension. The boundary is marked by a hedge which they own. The hedge is quite wide (~1m). They plan to build right up to the hedge saying that the boundary is the edge of the hedge on our side (and hence they don't break the planning regulations about building within a metre of the boundary). However, if the boundary was in the middle of the hedge they'd have to be less ambitious.

Where the boundary is ambiguous is there any default in English law to decide where the boundary is?

I have flushed down a bunch of christmas tree needles down the toilet and it got clogged.

I tried:

-using the plunger
-blowing air at 230 mph into the hole
-tried pouring hotwater down it
-tried sticking in a long flexible stick to clear the clog

NOTHING WORKS

--->I really do not want to call the plumber, I don;t have money to waste.

ADVICE?

I have mains pressure water and a storage heater, but it never runs out of hot water so I think it can also heat continuously (unless I just don't use that much!).

I turn on the shower to warm it up and within about 10 seconds the pressure drops and I have to turn it up. Then every few minutes the same thing will happen but to a lesser extent. It's usually only the hot water, the cold is usually fine.

What would cause this and what should I do about it? Or is it normal?

I have installed two new cables and both broke. The first one broke at the bottom where it connects to the control arm and the second cable broke on the top near the handle. The installation looks intuitive, however, it is not. There must be a technique or method for getting the adjustment correct without the cable breaking.
