I have mains pressure water and a storage heater, but it never runs out of hot water so I think it can also heat continuously (unless I just don't use that much!).

I turn on the shower to warm it up and within about 10 seconds the pressure drops and I have to turn it up. Then every few minutes the same thing will happen but to a lesser extent. It's usually only the hot water, the cold is usually fine.

What would cause this and what should I do about it? Or is it normal?

Do you live in an apartment and share the hot water heater?
That's the only reason I know that you'd lose pressure; someone else is using the hot water at the same time.

think ofyou've got a three/4 inch line feeding your bathe. if so, the nice and cozy water has to push out a higher volume of chilly, or luke warmth water in the previous the nice and cozy water reaches the tap. is it a bath/bathe? if in trouble-free terms a bath, the nice and cozy water travels added up the riser to the showerhead. there is dissimilar possibilities.
