i saw on a cleaning programme once to get rid of bad smells from your fridge, crumple up some news paper and place in the fridge, apparently it absorbs the smell, don't know if it works though.

Personally, I don't really think baking soda works very well and especially not for strong fish smells.. . I've tried lots of different things for odors and I finally found a product that I've stuck with for years now. It's really great. It is called "FRIDGE IT" odor absorbers and it's a little purple cube with activated carbon filter inside. Works fantastic. I keep one in my fridge and also freezer but also use these things all around including under sink and near my trash. I've even used it around diaper pail. It is fragrance free and just eliminates the odors and works for a long time. I have friends that use these in their car to get rid of smoke smells so I guess it works for that too. I love these things. You can buy it in kitchen sections of stores like Walmart and Linens and Things. Also, I believe camping world.
Really worth trying. So much better than all these other products

You will need to wipe the inside of the fridge out first (mr. clean is pretty good).
Then I would use a paste made from baking soda and lemon juice. Rub the interior of the fridge then rinse. Leave a fresh box of baking soda in the fridge.

Clean it with a paste made of baking soda and fresh lemon juice. The odor will go away. And then, to prevent any odors, keep a piece of charcoal in a tupper inside the fridge. The charcoal will absorb any odors. Good luck!!!
