If you live near a coast, especially one that has a marsh nearby, you should be able to get all the cat tails you want for free. If not, then come to Louisiana.......we've got plenty. Best of luck to you.

A store that sells pond supplies. Or go pull them up from a marshy area. I'm not sure if the "tail" part of the plant is really producing seeds with the fluff that is produced at the end of it's life or if you have to use the tuber that is under water in the mud.

You can buy cattails at most garden supply stores if they sell water garden products
