Lawn mower gas? You mean like regular 87-91 octane gasoline, which I fill my lawn mower with? Or do you mean the gasoline mixed with lubricant, which I put in my weed-wacker?

Oh, never mind. I'm sure both will blow your hand off pretty quickly, if you're able to actually get that good of a seal.

Unless you're talking about a Zippo. Zippos will work with any flammable liquid (gasoline, kerosene, rubbing alcohol, or even 151 proof rum).

NEVER use lawn mower gas to refill your lighter. Lawn mower gas should only be used to fill your lawn mower, light your fireplace and as an emergency roadside flare. What you will need to refill your lighter is pure rubbing alcohol, it burns cleaner and if you are thirsty it is a refreshing beverage.

No. Disposable lighters are filled with butane, and cannot be refilled. Some butane-fired lighters are refillable, and butane cans are available for the purpose. The older Zippo-type lighters are of course refillable, but you should use fuel intended for them, as the vapor pressure is controlled.

CAN YOU?...... SURE!
SHOULD YOU?............. ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!!!!!!
DO NOT DO IT! Whether your lighter uses lighter fluid or butane it is designed specifically for those fuels.....NOT GASOLINE!!!!
You WILL most certainly be severely injured if you attempt to ignite a lighter with gasoline in it.
DO NOT FILL YOUR LIGHTER WITH GASOLINE OR ANY OTHER COMBUSTIBLE PRODUCT OTHER THAN THAT FOR WHICH THE PRODUCT IS SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED.

I HOPE THIS ANSWER SCARES YOU TO DEATH, BECAUSE DOING WHAT YOU SUGGEST COULD CAUSE JUST THAT!

I highly doubt it and would advise you to be careful. Mowing Lawn gas is meant for mowing lawns, not cigarette lighters for a reason...

NO! You need butane for the lighter. Gasoline is probably much more explosive. You do not want your lighter blowing up in your face!

I am guessing you can do just about anything in life... once.

Should you choose to do this, it will definitely be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. IF you are not successful in blowing yourself up, you will be severely burned and in hospital for a great deal of time with lots of time to think about how stupid it was to do it.

If you mean a zippo type lighter with a wick, yes , it will work. Don't try it with a butane type lighter.
