I am not exactly sure why you want to do this but maybe for some kind of linen effect?

Put a VERY light skim coat of drywall mud on the wall. Use a 12" mud blade. Put it on as thin as you can but make it as even as you can... gently press the fiber cloth into the mud and smooth it out gently with the same blade but with a cloth wrapped on it to protect the sharpness of the blade from scraping the cloth. Let it dry and voila!
