My house was built in 1894 & the walls are made of lath & plaster . I put a nail in the wall & if I don't hit the lath or a stud , it comes out .
The studs just arn't in the right place . Need to use 2 ankers .
How can I hang a big picture safely over a couch ?

I know they make ankers for dry wall , to hang things on ,but what about old plaster
A Christmas gift I had to put behind my side board until I could hang it .
Help Please

This is my first post, I hope I'm doing it right.
I saved the seeds from my Gerbera daisy plants, I have tried many times to get them to grow with no luck. Does anyone know how to start the seeds? Thank you.

When I press the opener button, the opener begins to open the door but stops at the first door section, only opening the door 1/4 of the way. If I have someone press the button and I apply upwards pressure on the door, it will open with my assistance all the way. If I stop applying the pressure, the door will stop at that point. This is a belt drive unit, board number 41A5021-5E, and this difficulty started just yesterday. The opener was installed in 05/00 and we have never had an issue with it before. There is no visible damage to the tracks, sensors, etc. and we have experienced no known accidents involving any of these. It just won't lift the door. I am a "do-it-yourselfer" and am seeking guidance from an expert to tell me where to start and a potential diagnosis for the problem. I did momentarily disconnect power in an attempt to "reset" the unit. I also used the quick release and the unit will operate as usual withhout the door attached. THANK YOU!

I live in an apartment with a mail slot on my door. My door faces the outside and the cold air gets in through the gap in the door and makes my hallway freezing. Is there something out there where it can catch the mail while sealing out the cold? Weird question I know.

won't get our money until 3 days after? We are not purchasing another property and I think he's taking liberties but I could be completly wrong.

You don't buy a car and pay for it 3 days later, I don't understand his way of thinking. Surely once the mortgage gets paid off so should we. Everyone keeps telling me to stay in the house until the money is through.

I was visiting this old lady yesterday and she asked me for advice. My advice would have been to move the fridge or the cooker, and not to have them side by side like that, otherwise the fridge would be damaged in time, only the problem is that her kitchen is a fitted one, and there is no-where else to put either appliance. There is a gap of about half a meter between the two appliances. Since the first piece of advice is not possible to implement, I thought of an insulating material to protect the fridge. Which? Alternatively, If you have other advice, I will relay the same to the lady. Thanks.

We have a double sink in the kitchen, one with a disposal. About 10' to the right is a bathroom. When we let water out of the sink, it comes up in the toilet. When we flush the toilet, the water comes almost to the top of the commode then drains. You can hear a gurgling in the kitchen sink area and the water does not come back to the level it should in the commode. We opened the main drain and ran an auger through and it seems clear but we are still having the problem. HELP!
