No way. it is not possible to get enough heat volume. You might be able to get it hot enough, but it will not hold enough volume to melt the solder. It will cool down too quickly. Also, the heat would disapate too quickly. There is a big difference between temperature and BTUs. You might be able to get the temperature, but not enough BTUs.
It would be like trying to pull a huge trailer with a car that has a tiny engine. You can get the RPM up, but you don't have the horsepower.
If you mean on a computer type of ribbon cable, most of them are not soldered. They use a technique called insulation displacement that is a physical connection, not soldered.
You need to tell us what you are doing to get a better answer.

If you are careful not to burn yourself, set something afire, or melt the handle while heating the screwdriver then it is possible to melt and loosen a small solder joint with a hot object like a screwdriver.
The smaller the screwdriver the more quickly it's going to cool down though, so if it works at all you'll have to be quick. If the wire is soldered to a piece of metal or to a large copper pad on the object, then the heat will dissipate too quickly and it won't work at all.
I'd really suggest buying an inexpensive soldering iron at radio shack or a hardware store. It's safer and guaranteed.

Probably not. The screwdriver will not hold enough heat to melt the solder. Go to Radio Shack and get a small soldering iron. If there is a lot of solder on the point you can get a roll of copper braid that you place between the iron and the point you want to 'de-solder'. The copper will absorb most of the solder making it easy to separate the two wires.

no better than i can use a turkey baster to water the lawn
ok joking aside- if your iron has high enough wattage, wrap about 5 turns of # 14 wire aound the tip ( assuming your using an iron and not a gun ) leave a piece about 1/4 wire in protruding fromm the tip area and tin it - you now have a small hot tip which might work. if its too big use a small file and make a small flat point on the tipe of the wire - tin it and go.
