We have a double sink in the kitchen, one with a disposal. About 10' to the right is a bathroom. When we let water out of the sink, it comes up in the toilet. When we flush the toilet, the water comes almost to the top of the commode then drains. You can hear a gurgling in the kitchen sink area and the water does not come back to the level it should in the commode. We opened the main drain and ran an auger through and it seems clear but we are still having the problem. HELP!

I would suspect a blocked vent line, or possibly a clog in the drain after the toilet but not to the main drain line. If you feel comfortable tackling these issues, the answer is what you've done to the main drain. Auger the vent line and see if this improves the problem. If not, you may need to look at augering from the sinks down to the main sewer line.

It sound like you have a venting problem for your drains.Old houses may not be vented properly. Vent come up and out the roof on newer homes. You can check if they are clear

Your best bet is to get an expert in to assess and correct the situation. One of the drain clearing types would be best.

Ditto answer #1. Sounds like you might need to get the ladder out.
