I am getting carpet fitted but would rather not have to remove the existing laminate flooring. I thought keeping this in place could be additional insulation and it also saves the hassle of having to remove it. Is this ok?
Also, not sure whether underlay is required.
May be getting carpets with felt backing (tbc) and I was told this wouldn't require underlay.
Under the laminate flooring is chipboard floorboards.

I have an idea to put Rose bushes about 10ft apart around the perimeter of my house in various colors but I'm looking for smaller shrubs or flowers that would,in their due time compliment or match my house's color. Be aware I have alot of pine trees in my yard.

Hello!

Does anyone have any tips for germinating Jacaranda seeds? So far, I've been trying 20 degrees C, at a 16hour daylength in soil in a growth cabinet. I was wondering if they need pre-soaking (priming), or maybe higher temperature? It might be that the seed I have just aren't viable any more, but, the boss would like me to try and find out how to germinate them! Thanks =)

I just moved into a new place that is older than places I've lived in before. I lived in two pretty new apartments before, and each came with all appliances. The electricity bill for those places were about 50 dollars/month. They were one level. This new place I'm living in is pretty old, with washer/dryer and fridge that is about 10 years old. It is two level. We rarely use the heater/ac and only cook occasionally. I'd say we wash about 2 loads a week. Is a bill of over 150/month normal for our situation. I only ask because it's 3 times what I used to pay. We also went away for December and turned off all appliances, and came to find the bill for that month only marginally lower than before. What could be happening?

My roommates had an argument over whether a washing machine that is not in use uses any electricity when the cycle control knob (the knob that starts the washer when pulled out and stops it when it is pushed in) is NOT pushed in. Our electricity bill is pretty high, but I don't know whether that knob makes a difference when the washer ISN'T in use. One roommate says it does, one says it doesn't. Who is right? Does the control knob position matter when the machine isn't even running?

The machine is a New Zealand spec LG-Brand "LD14AT3" Stainless Steel Dishwasher. It came with the house I bought, and has been working splendidly so far. But now it's begun to do odd stuff, and I'm sure if I had a manual, I'd be able to find out how to control it.

Does anyone know a URL where I might find these things?

Thanks.

And, no there is no food left in there, but I noticed a box of kleenex had been shredded as if a mouse had been there, is that possible? And, since there is no food is it gone? Noticed the kleenex box, which was on the floor of front seat 2days ago! EEEEEEEEK!
