I agree, hot off first, last back on, and remember once you attach the ground holding the switch by the frame puts you in the current path so do not touch any metal parts of the screwdriver if side wiring... safety first ALWAYS turn off the power whenever possible

The neutral is a current carrying conductor,If it is tied into another circuit say a light in the next room. and that light is on you disconnect the neutral first or you can get shocked from the backfeed and killed. Then to reconnect you connect the hot wire first and then the neutral. The neutral is the return wire to the panel. There has been some debate about this.Better to be safe than sorry.

I would think that it would be safer to disconnect the ground first. It would be difficult (if not impossible) to hold the switch without touching the grounded portion of it while you removed the hot wire. You could cover the hot wire connection with electrical tape while removing the ground and neutral wires to make it somewhat safer. So I would disconnect, Ground - Neutral - Hot and connect, Hot - Neutral - Ground. Just my opinion...

In the US a switch does not have a neutral. Just a hot in and a hot out and a ground.

I must assume that you really mean what you are asking. The answer is based on that.
You have absolutely no business working on a live circuit. You definately do not have the knowledge to do this safely. The fact that you are asking this is proof of that.
A live circuit is one where the electrical power is still turned on. Very few professionals will even do this because it is so dangerous.
Either turn the circuit off or get a professional who is experienced with working on live circuits. We don't want you dead.

The black hot from the power source should be removed first and reconnected last. Tape it temp. while you make the other connections. Be careful working on live circuits!!! It is best to shut off the breaker.

don't play with live wires.
but if you have no choice, I always pull the hot off first and wirecap it. and it's the last to get connected.
