Make a paste of baking soda and water and spread it on your case. You'll want to get the case wet so it will stick. Let it sit over night and then clean it off and rinse the case. Some cases are machine washable, so you can check that as well. It should get rid of the smell.

I like this smell you are referring to, but if you can not stand it MAKE SURE IT IS TURNED OFF and put it in a plastic baggie with something you do like the smell of. A sock that is recently laundered or spray one squirt of cologne in the bag and let it dry then put the Ipod in it.......zip it up and let it sit over night.

Eventually this smell you speak of will go away on its own, but just storing it in a linen drawer will work too.

1. Get a papertowel, spray it with Febreeze and place both in a grocery plastic bag and tie it tight. Let stand for a few hours and the smell should be gone.

OR

2. Sprinkle baking soda inside and over it and wrap tightly in Saranwrap (plastic wrap). Let stand overnight and then shake and wipe baking soda off. Should be ok.

If you don't mind it smelling like mint...Try this...Put it in a zip lock bag with a few sticks of gum (in the wrapper - of course) and leave it for about 24 hours.

IF the case is machine washable you can wash it in cold water with laundry detergent and a TBSP of baking soda!

With age that odor will dissipate.

Wipe it down with a damp cloth dipped in white vinegar. Then wipe with just damp with water. Let air dry. It should help.

Best of luck
