I am putting in new cherry wood laminate flooring in my condo. Not sure what color base molding I should put. My coworkers suggested a wood color that matches the floor but I have looked in magazine and most of the time they are just plain white? I like things to look very modern what do you suggest?

My son put a large amount of rice through the garbage disposal, which turned to a mush that backed up the pipes. In one area in particular water was coming out where there was a joint. I removed the pipe and the trap and cleaned out the gunk and am now trying to put back together. The trap went on just fine, but the other joint is going to need a strong sealant to help it #1 stay together, and #2 maintain a waterproof seal. It is a pretty unusual pipe make-up, in that the connecting joint twists onto the adjactent pipe, but there is not threading.for it to twist around. After researching, I found out this is called a slip joint. The pipe and everything is in good condition, it is just not making a tight seal when I try and put it back together.....I need to seal it with something that it going to hold like gangbusters (preferably something I don't have to wear a gas mask to apply, as I have 2 kids in the house). Any suggestions???

Solve an argument with hubby for me. LOL

We have a whirlpool duet washer and dryer. My hubby puts things on medium heat and shrinks them.

I put them on low and because it has a heat sensor, if you don't get them dry the first time you run a 2nd cycle and it will stop when it's dry.

He says drying it twice on low will shink just as much as drying once on hot.

Who is right? :)

It was working fine on Monday and then I put a load of towels in last night and it wouldn’t dry them. Yes, it does turn on and puff air but it’s not hot. Any ideas for a common DIY fix or is this something that is going to cost me Christmas?

I checked the council's website, the wasteaware website, etc., etc., and it's all driving me round the bend. There seems to be nowhere to dipose of carpets - all the rubbish tips they list are waste recycling centres. How do I get even a list of tips that take carpets in Herts? I don't want to pay the council to come to collect it when I can take it myself.

Hello! I have a Baxi Bermuda GF3 Back Boiler, and it is no longer lighting up because I suspect it is full of dust and needs a good cleaning. However I do not know how to open the thing up to access the Back Boiler for cleaning. I understand how to remove the cover for the Fire Front, but then I do not know how to remove the entire fire front (with the gas pipes etc). Would anyone be able to help me with this? I don't believe this can be that difficult a job, just a fiddly one! Any help / guidance is much appreciated!

I have a small African Violet bought from a store and it has like 2 parts of tuber. Since I brought it home there has been some green foliage that has developed from both sides of the tuber. These new leaves are green and nice but only on one side of the tuber, the sprout from the other end of the tuber produced green leaves but somehow half of these leaves are blotchy and pale just like most of the older leaves.
I water them mostly by placing the pot in water and if i ever do water them from the top i make sure to avoid watering the leaves and the tuber. I give them 12 hours of uninterrupted darkness and try to provide as much light as I can. I do feed it with an African Violet fertilizer. I changed the soil that it was orignally in and hence it now has lighter soil and good drainage.

What is it that I am doing wrong? I want the foliage to look all green and healty.

Please help!
