Anybody have any tips on how to keep them from building back up? I'd prefer non-toxic because I have animals...
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

There is a website where you can buy this all natural stuff called Cobweb Eliminator. You spray it where you have cobwebs and it breaks the cobwebs down and keeps new ones from forming. The website I found it on is www.homepestsolutions.com. It's listed in the botanical section of their catalog. It's safe for pets and really great stuff. Good Luck!

I'm sorry that I'm not up on the non-toxic remedies although I'm sure there probably are some. If you have to use bug killer, go to Home Depot or Lowes and buy the gallon size bottle of Ortho Max ($12-15). It's the same size as a container of anti-freeze and has a tube and sprayer attached. It kills bugs like a professional is handy to have around the house under the sink or in the garage/ basement.

The best way would be to get rid of the spiders entirely, but that is no easy venture. Spiders are very opportunistic and the space under your deck offers some prime realestate. Spiders will preferentially set up their homes here because it is well protected from predators, wind and other elements, and not to mention that these spaces are also favorable for their prey (insects).
Constant harassment may eb the only real way to discourage them form stting up shop under your deck. Try using the garden hose to flush them out, if their webs are continually damaged, they will eventually leave because it is not energetically favorable for them to rebuild everyday.
Spiders are also quite fragile little critters and the blast from a hose may even be enough to kill them, and that is a completely safe way to do it!

hope this helps!

There is no way to keep them away. Actually, spiders are good to have around as they help keep the insect population down. Just watch out for the Black Widows, especially if you have small kids.

The best solution is you should clean them often ^^

or there are some mixtures which made from nature, when you use these, it isn't harmful to human and your animals
