I am absolutely terrified of spiders. I cannot go near them at all. If there is one within 6 feet of me, I scream. I can't hoover them up, stamp on them, put them on paper/glass to throw out, the long length bug catcher etc .. nothing will make me go near them. I have heard that putting chestnuts on your window-sills prevents them from coming in as they do not like the smell of chestnuts. Anyone tried that? or any other remedies?

Now this is a question for the real appliance sluths. Everytime I go on vaction I turn the house water off in case a pipe breaks and we get flooded. However, the past few time I have noticed alot of water on the floor in the kitcken coming out of the dishwasher. The water leaks onto the floor and is ruining cabinets from the moisture. I think somehow the dishwasher is filling up and is being forced out the door. I could turn off the water control valve to the dishwasher also but that valve is old and leaks if I just touch it the slightest bit. I will probably just repalce the valve to a better one anyway, but I'm just confused as to how the whole problem is happening, thanks all, John

Its an extendable one with 6 seats.
Old fashioned but very sturdy.
Seats are green, table has metal legs and timber top.
I want to give it away because i want to give it to someone in need.

The mattress is extra firm. I thought a firm mattress would be good. I was wrong. Unfortunately, lying on it for two minutes and trying to sleep on it are two different things.

I'm being told that if I power wash my patio in cold weather it will cause it to crack. Does anyone know if there's any truth to this? It seems to me it won't make a difference but it never hurts to ask.

Features like interior "bridges," loads of built-in shelving, open-concept peculiarities, etc, look fantastic to me, but I can see how they might look a little odd to others.

This is a got-a-full-page-in-the-housing... "unique" house.

Are there any rules of thumb vis-a-vis just going with square footage, given that "artistic" house touches add value to some people but decrease it to others to the extent where it ends up as neutral?

It's one thing to compare standard houses where you can say "den, dining room, 4 bedrooms, etc...", but I have no idea where one even starts estimating the value of something like an attached log cabin.

Any thoughts?

I have a 3 ton unit and the compressor burnt up somehow. If he tells me the high shelf price will be about 1200 dollars to replace the compressor (that's parts and labor), should I just bite the bullet and buy a whole new system? What's the average life of a heat pump?

F'n sharp little claws when they grab onto your hand. Guess that's how they can run up and down trees though.
