Mine was attempting to plumb in a washing machine in my Daughters high rise flat. I fitted a hot water inlet tap into the mains gas line.
Luckily all the mains gas to the building had long since been disconnected (for safety reasons) or I would have blown the high rise block off the face of the earth, along with all the residents..

I went to turn the heating on last night and it tripped a fuse. Replaced fuse and the same thing happened. Wondering if this could be the thermostat, cos heating is permanently switched on to constant on the timer and I just use the thermostat in the hall to activate it. Or could it be the timer itself? How hard/easy is it to replace the thermostat or timer? And if I can't do it am I better getting a plumber or an electrician out? It's a gas boiler if that makes any difference.

In my bedroom, my bed partially faces a mirror. I have no other options as far as furniture placement goes in the room. A friend told me that I should purchase a small Feng Shui Bagua Mirror to hang over my bed. My questions are...is this the correct course of action? If the mirror is the correct course of action. what is the reason for the mirror?

Please be sure to list your source.

I would like to paint the bathroom to make it look fresh and updated. Right now the colour in there is a drab off white YUCK! My landlord has okayed new paint in this room as long as I choose a colour she can agree with me on. My bath mat, "toilet hugger" mat, and shower curtains are all a dark navy blue. I also have one mat in front of my sink which is blue with fish on it as the the theme of my bathroom is fish (for the kids). What coulour would you suggest? Something that my landlord will agree on that is not TOO drastic yet will look nice with my decor.

We have a Gas Boiler that was installed about 3 years ago when we had an extension to our house. The central heating system for the whole house was redesigned at that time by a CORGI approved engineer.

It has been regularly serviced since and is currently covered by a British Gas servicing contract.

Since we've switched the central heating on for the winter it has worked perfectly as far as heating the house is concerned, but despite bleeding the raidiators (when it's switched off) it is making a horrendous noise while it heats up the water. It sounds like the noise a young boy makes when pretending to be firing a gun (a sort of "peeyung, peeyung" sound). It's very loud - wakes us up in the morning. The sound continues for a short while if I switch off the heating.

Before we have the BG man in, I'd like an idea of what it's likely to be that is causing the problem. Just so that we don't get conned into buying a new system when it may be something simple.

TIA

Neil

-------My duvet cover. Its original color is blue (right side) but it's faded whiter (left side), only at the top half which is nearest my head.

-------My towel. Unlike the other two examples, the spotty discoloration seems to be randomly distributed, not concentrated by my head. I have another towel, same material, bought at the same time, but in a deep purple, and it isn't discolored at all.

>>>>>>>>SOOOO: I don't know what it is at all. A friend suggested that maybe it was a certain acne cream that I use (Clean & Clear Persa Gel 10, Maximum Strength), but that doesn't really explain the towel phenomenon. Seperate causes, perhaps? But what?
