of course i clean.....i know it sounds funny, but i do....i always pick up before she comes and make sure things look somewhat nice....
what i need a maid for is to deep clean...vacuuming, dusting, floors, etc....i don't make her hang up my clothes or do the dishes...

I make sure things are pick up and straightened up. I have a bad back and I hire someone to mop the floors, change the sheets, clean the bathroom, the heavy heavy stuff. Most maid services give you a list of what they will and will not do.

The only time in my whole life that I ever had a maid was right after my first daughter was born, 15 years ago. My very rich sister-in-law (at the time) "gave" me a maid service housecleaning, once a week, for a month. It was her "baby gift" to me and it was wonderful. I didn't lift a finger before she came over - I was too busy trying to figure out being a new mom!!
Ever since then, I have always given something similar as a baby shower gift, for as many weeks as I could afford. It is a very welcome and appreciated luxury.

I have a house cleaning crew come in and yes, I straighten up before they come. Here's why:
Their job is to clean the house, not tidy it up. They dust, vacuum, polish, etc. and if my crap is all over the floor, they have to take extra time to pick it up before they can vacuum. If my books and papers are all over the dining table, they have to move that stuff before they can clean and polish the table.
But, I guess if I had a real maid, my books and papers wouldn't be all over the table in the first place because she wouldn't let me mess up "her" house.

No, but I often wish that I did. But I know that I'd wind up cleaning the house like a lunatic before she came over, so it would just be throwing money away. lol

I live in a dorm, so we do have a cleaning lady. As for cleaning up before she comes over... well, I clean up after myself, at least.

certain, I do this. I purely grab one or 2 makeup remover wipes and bypass over the table, sink and loo. I continuously %. up my trash and that i strip the beds and lay the linen and dirty towels in a unmarried neat pile. I not in any respect felt the favor to make the mattress because house responsibilities has to positioned sparkling sheets on anyhow. earlier I look at I continuously spray a mist of fragrance to freshen the room up, lol.
