Can you exceed the building regulations which state the rise of a stairway should be 42% when converting a barn into a two storey holiday accomodation and replacing the ladder to the upper floor with a new staircase. Space is restricted. Also when a certificate of completion of building has been issued, does that imply that all building work carried out within the property in question conforms to building regulations.

The stain is about 8 hours old. I already tried cold water and paper towels. The stain is not as dark, but it is smudged.

The dryer tumbles, but no heat. Yes, it is on the right setting. I checked the main breaker, and that is fine. Is there anything it could be, besides a broken element?

I just had a brand new 3 car garage built. The slab is a 4 inch slab, with monolithic footings. The ground seemed to be compact well with lots of gravel and the contractor used mesh during the poor. There were no stress cuts placed in the concrete, it was one solid pour. The slab looked great to me after it was finished. However, about the past month or so, I developed about 25 various cracks in the slab. Most started out as very think, barely noticeable cracks, but they all seem to be getting wider and longer. I can tell these cracks are likely to continue expanding. I know some cracking is normal, but when or how do you know if there are too many?

I need some ammonia based window cleaner for a experiment in my workplace. I hear Windex is ammonia based but cannot find any distributors in the UK. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a fairly large broadleaved tree in my garden that I want to decorate with fairy lights. The most I can find on an outdoor set is 300. Think I would need substantially more than that. Does anyone know where I could get these (live in N Ireland so may need websites) or have any experience / advice you could share with me on this subject?

Thanks

I have a bath tub/shower stall I need to replace. I have no way to get underneath it, because it's in a basement bathroom with a concrete floor. How do I connect the drain pipe from the tub to the drain pipe in the floor, and insure it's sealed(water tight).

The plant is a climber and grows in tropical countries. It uses its clasping roots to hold on to walls or trees. Its leaves are green, big and oblong (about 30cm long). It does not bear any flowers.

Please tell me what this item is called.
It is desk height and about the size of a large bed-side table when closed. As it is opened, a platform, on which is a serving tray, rises upto the level of the opened leaves.

When I wash dishes in the dishwasher, they come out covered in tiny food particles or something. =/ Usually the dishes on the top shelf, but sometimes the bottom, too. Like, there'll be pools of water in all the glasses, with gross junk floating in them all. U_U Or if I wait a while to unload the dishes, all the particles will be dried on. It's annoying! I have to wash them all again when I take them out.
Now, I have had other dishwashers that leave behind little particles and junk on the dishes, but this is just way in excess of that.
So, what do I need to do?? Is there a filter that needs changing, or some part of it that needs cleaning out??
Thanks so much!!

I clean my house for at least three hours a day, yet it never looks like I've done a thing! (after husband and kids tear it up.) Should I be spending more time? I feel like I'm missing out on life!

I have noticed about two days ago that my refrigirator is not cooling properly. The freezer is not freezing at all, the meat in the freezer is just cold and not frozen. The stuff in the refrigerator is just a liitle bit colder than room temperature. I have got that temperature knob at the highest. Please help before my food gets wasted.
