The dryer tumbles, but no heat. Yes, it is on the right setting. I checked the main breaker, and that is fine. Is there anything it could be, besides a broken element?

it could be a number of things. This actually just happened to me. First i took a vacuum and vacuumed out the lint trap and then went outside and checked where the hot air comes out and there was a huge lint ball trapping the air from escaping. That was the problem now my dryer works fine. I would try to clean you dryer very well and remove all excess lint trapped and then if that doesn't work call a repairman.

Check the exhaust. You may have a build up of lint in the back of the dryer. And...
Check the timer! Often times you may stop the dryer and empty the tub and leave the timer on. Over time this will burn out the heating element. Fix the timer before you invest in a new element.

It could be a clogged duct out of the dryer, but if not getting hot at all, could very well be one of the thermostats on the unit... depends on the model and make of unit, but go to www3.sears.com and you can research model number and look at pictures of unit, and can find where the parts are located in the unit, and can even order the parts from them.. I was in appliance repair for 6 years, heating on dryers is my specialty. repaired more than 300 in my 6 years.

NOT TO SURE ABOUT BREAKERS BUT MOST DRYERS HAVE 2 FUSES, SO WE WILL ASSUME YOU NEED 2 BREAKERS AS WELL. ONE IS FOR RUNNING THE DRYER, THE OTHER IS FOR THE DRYER ELEMENT CHECK THIS OUT BEFORE YOU TEAR THE OTHER ELEMENT OUT

Heating Coil needs to be replaced. Call for estimate. A good tech shouldn't charge more than $35 and hour.

What is wrong with your dryer might involve several things and each manufacturer configures each appliance differently than his competitor.

Below is a pretty good site to figure out things that go wrong with appliances.

There are sensors in there, it is most likely the the heating element though.
