I need to find some replacement keys and possibly a replacement lock set for a Stow Davis credenza. The lock number is SD24, and looks like a double sided key. Can you contact me if you can help? Kind Regards.

our lounge rad is warm (but not hot) at the top left side, cool at bottom left side and cold at top & bottom on right side. Have tried to bleed it but seems OK. It's a replacement rad fitted about 3 years ago and has a thermostatic valve fitted. The pipe coming out of the floor (and into the rad) on right hand side is really hot but the pipe going into the floor on the left is stone cold. All other rads in the house are really hot. Any ideas?

We have a few mice living in our kitchen. I'm worried they'll multiply unless we sort out the problem. We don't want to poison them becasue they might die behind the counters where we can't find them and then decompose and leave a bad smell. Please help!

I checked the light strands and all were working. However, after stringing the tree with them and decorating the tree; I found the top quarter strand was out. Do I just replace the dead bulbs or do I replace the strand?

I have been given a light coloured leather chair that has been very neglected. If the answer contains a trade name please tell me what the product contains, as I am from South Africa and often the product names are unknown to us even though we usually have the equivalent. Please help

I acquired an old second hand freezer - it is clean but smells damp when I open the door even though it is at freezing temperature. Any ideas how to stop it smelling - I cleaned it well with bicarbonate of soda but it hasn't helped

I live in an apt that has a pretty old gas heater. I'm confused as in whether I should use that (which might be cheaper) or get an electric heater. Please provide advice on which would not dry out air as much and keep air clean and which would be more "bang for the buck".

Thanks!

I have just moved in to a new flat, which is next to a busy road. Even though the windows are double glazed my bedroom is still quite noisy.
I am only renting the place so I can't do any major work or replace the windows. Does anyone know of a cheap, effective way to reduce the noise coming through the windows, without replacing them?

Our bedroom is directly above a store room (not our property) and we have a high level of humidity which has caused damp to form on the underside of our mattress. How can I measure the level of humidty? How much humidity is acceptable? and how can I reduce any excess? There are no other signs of damp other than on the mattress which is placed on a hollow wooden frame with drawers at the sides. If anyone can help, we'd be very garateful!

My lightbulbs seem lucky to last a fortnight - and it's costing me a fortune! The energy saving bulbs last a little longer, although nowhere near the life-time advertised. I've tried cheap bulbs and expensive bulbs - no difference. The house is about 8 years old and I've had no other electrical problems. The bulbs blow most frequently when I switch lights on, but can also blow after being on for some time. My uncle's house had power surges frequently, but that seemed to mess up several appliances at the same time, whereas I only get one bulb blow at a time.

I'd be grateful for any ideas - otherwise I'm thinking of getting the dogs a running machine and connecting a dynamo to it to power some torches!

Yeah, you guessed it. Burned the popcorn in the microwave. Have cleaned it with baking soda, then tried boiling vinegar water, even a mixture of spices. Smell is less, but still there. Any other suggestions of how to "sweeten" the microwave to tolerable or just gone? Thanks for helping with suggestions!

I have a faucet that doesn't flow. I can turn it on and use the sprayer, but no water from anywhere else. I've tried looking on different sites and they all tell you how to fix a leak or tighten a loose handle. There has to be a solution somewhere....a website I overlooked, something.........
