A plaza is a small manmade public place where people gather to socialize, relax, shop, etc. Think of a plaza square in a downtown area.

A park is also a manmade recreation area, but it usually features a more natural setting and is designed to preserve nature. It's also usually much larger. Think of a national park like Yellowstone or Yosemite, where you can go hiking, backpacking, camping, river rafting, fishing, or just drive. Or something smaller like a state park where you can go and have a picnic or a barbecue. You can't do stuff like that at a plaza.

Agree with Yanbaru. Plaza is generally paved, park is grassy.

To me, a park has grass and a plaza has stone or tile.
