I checked the light strands and all were working. However, after stringing the tree with them and decorating the tree; I found the top quarter strand was out. Do I just replace the dead bulbs or do I replace the strand?

Before I would go to the trouble of taking down the whole strand, I would check for a loose bulb. Sometimes in the process of hanging them on the tree a bulb will become loose or fall out causing the strand to stop working. If this doesn't fix the problem then I would replace the strand. If all the other decorations are on the tree it maybe easier to add another strand of working lights, and skip taking the old ones off
