There is a quarter size dark brown mark. Can this be removed or lightened? A napkin caught fire and was dropped on my kitchen linoleum floor.

I found a small leafy plant discarded in a trash can at work. It still looked mostly healthy, so I trimmed off the dead parts and decided to keep it. The plant had a plastic container with holes on the bottom for water to drain.

My question is, will it hurt the plant to put it in a ceramic coffee cup? My concern is drainage. I am not sure if the roots will be harmed due to the water sitting down there since there are no holes at the bottom. The plant had its own potting soil so I just moved all of that, along with the plant, into the cup.

I don't know what species the plant is. The leaves are long, thin, and pointed, with pale streaks interspersed with the green.

Thanks for your help.

I went to Home Depot to buy an insulating blanket for my hot water heater. My local store doesn't carry them. The sales person told me that if there's a water heater fire, and you're using a water heater blanket, most insurance companies won't provide coverage for the damage. I would have thought that manufacturers would be smart enough to make them out of fire-resistant materials. I couldn't find anything in my HO policy about this issue, but I may have missed something in the fine print.

I read a short list of things you should do before selling your house. One of the things that they said you should do is remove all smells from the house. How do you do that? I'd imagine having the carpet cleaned is one. I do have 1 dog (beagle).

I moved into a nice two story townhome that has 4 bedrooms, two bathrooms and an attached garage and washer n dryer hookups. Because i am on section 8 my rent is only $297.00 a month. My friend who moved from one of the townhomes warned me that the townhomes have field mice that come in from the field. When the manager of these townhomes called me and told me that i was next to move in after a 1 1/2 yr wait i jumped at the opportunity. First i told the manager that i heard that they have mice and she replied that it was no longer a problem. I recently complained to the manager that there are mice and she sent out a stupid exterminator who only gave me some cardboard traps w/ really sticky super glue like stuff. He told me to put them in each corner of the house and add a drop of peanut butter to them and wait to catch the mice. Well after two weeks i've only caught one little baby mouse but there are still like 5 mice remaining. I threatened the manager that i was looking for a new

I want to install bamboo floors and was looking for a durable product as I have kids and a dog. I read somewhere the woven type was the best but I was also looking for brands that are recommended.

I am renting a house and recently I have noticed there are bats living inside the walls of the laundry room which is off the carport, weve seen them a few times but I can hear them every time I go out there and the worse problem is the awful disgusting smell of urine that is taking over the entire laundry room, and now I have started smelling that same smell in our bathroom which is closest to the laundry room, my husband is going to talk to the landlords this weekend about it, but my question is has anyone else ever had this kind of a problem? do exterminators take care of bats, and also will they do something to get rid of the smell as well? thanks alot.

a new kitten piddled on my down comforter, (in a duvet of course). The duvet is machine washable, the comforter is not. There is a small stain, but I am more concerned with the urine smell. I don't want a repeat experience! Do the home dry cleaning products work? (I have access to a front load dryer), or do I need to break down and have it professionally cleaned?

I have sprouted an Avocado tree from seed in water. It is about 17 inches tall with six leaves on top and lots of buds on the stem.
I want to transplant it into soil and I need to know if I should prune it before or after I do that? Also wondering how much I should take off?
