With councils trying to encourage more stuff to be recycled, what still goes out with your rubbish? I don't want to know what you are recycling, only what you throw out as rubbish.

If the old one only makes it through 100000 cycles and your oven cycles once every few seconds when you cook, then how many minutes of cooking would you get from that sensor and shouldn't Sears give me a new one since the replacement costs me $75? They don't tell you that when you buy an oven and this part wears out it's welcome pretty quick during ownership. How long should a manufacturers part last? What do commercial ovens use? Are they any better? This was a top of the line kitchen appliance, digital and everything!

The tank emptied out of the valve at the bottom while the water pressure was on. I turned off the power, but if I had left the power on, wouldn't it just try to heat all the inrush of cold water and just consume power verses destroying the tank? I started to drain it before I turned the breaker off too....sorry.

Hi all.

Our Triton 8.5kw shower is giving up the ghost. Flow rate awful, fluctuating temperatures, clicking sound inside it! We're going to Argos soon to pick up another unit, but I'm not sure what rating we can go for. Obviously the simple / safe answer is to replace with another 8.5kw one, but we'd like to know if our circuitry is up to a more powerful version.

On the consumer unit there are two important ratings I think - one is the RCCB, which states 62A. The other is the dedicated shower circuit, which states 32A. Assuming the wiring is good quality 10mm2 and the length of the run is 7.5-10m, what's the most powerful shower I should be looking at?

Many thanks for any help you can offer.

Let me tell you my idea first... a room that is completely hand sculpted... the couches and chairs come out of the wall, the wall itself is cavernous and filled with shelves, lighting and outlets... a bar area or serving area that organically comes out of the floor... I've seen things similar at theme parks, just wanting to become more familiar with the materials used... some kind of plastic I’m assuming but it would be molded or carved by hand or tool on site, strong enough to be used daily. Waterproof, something you could run electrical cable or conduit through, and water pipes... thanks.

When I do a wash, I use conditioner as well but the damp smell from the drum doesn't make the clothes as fresh smelling as they should.

I have been making my own laundry detergent and instead of the Fels-Naptha I have been using Sunlight bar soap. Should I be using Ivory Bar soap instead as it is better for removing stains? Thanks.

If spiders aren't supposed to feed on humans or bite them unprovoked, why do I keep finding them in my alarmingly close proximity? There is always one hanging from the corner above or under my bed, no matter how often I clean, dust, wipe or spray and on several ocassions I found them crawling on my bed. Just today I woke up finding one dangling inches from my face! There's no real danger, I know, they're the house type, tiny bodies and long thread-slim legs, but this still gives me shivers!

I'm looking for window treatments for my living room. My couches are somewhere between an olive green or a moss color. I don't think it is wise to try and match curtains to that color. So, what color should I go with? An earthy color...some kind of beige or brown?
