With councils trying to encourage more stuff to be recycled, what still goes out with your rubbish? I don't want to know what you are recycling, only what you throw out as rubbish.

My answer to this question.
cellaphane and similar food packaging,
4 water filters a year, worn razors, dental floss, dirty paper, non reusable pens, dust, plastic food containers. Mostly celaphane.
The ironic thing is they introduced wheeled bins to make it easier to move. We have recycling bags, and mine are far heavier than the contents of the bin, when I put the bin out.

Anything that is mixed materials that i actually cant recycle. Such as cartons that arent recyclable. CD's , Razors, Perfume Bottles. Light bulbs.

Cant think of any more but you get the idea things that are mixed and cant be split . We recycle all paper, wood, metal, plastic, glass and all of our food scraps etc go in the compost bin.

I throw everything now.

After years of recycling before it became 'trendy', i have given up because i don't want to end up in court because a plastic bottle has accidentally got in with the newspapers.
These big brother tactics used by local councils have gone too far, one guy this week was in court and now has a ciminal record over a simple mix up.

I will continue to use bottle banks, etc but will not seperate anything the council collects, it's not worth the risk.

The things that go in my rubbish bag are left over foods-- packaging and other things that we are not allowed to put in recycle bin.

The council put our recycling bins in a very inconvenient place, as far away from my home as possible, so I don't bother to recycle.

Our recycling (Lambeth, London) won't take: yogurt pots, margarine tubs, polystyrene trays, bottle tops, plastic bags, can lids, bleach bottles.

Other stuff we bin are: leftover food which can't go in the compost, used tissues, empty cat food pouches etc.

Cellophane (the type that packages your fresh veg in certain cases)

HARD plastics that cannot be recycled

Cooked food leftovers, as these don't go in my composter.
