The fan in my master bedroom wasn't working. So I replaced the switch. The new switch didn't work, so I put the old switch back. Now the lights in my master bedroom, kitchen. guest bathroom and a bedroom do not work now. All on the same side of the house. I went and replaced the circuit breaker thinking the issue might be there, but no luck even with the new one. Any ideas on where the problem may lay? Thanks!

We are finishing our basement..........Right now it has the old 70s style paneling which I started ripping out. I never installed drywall before so I guess I am at the idiot stage. What is the typical way of cutting drywall? What tools am I going to need to complete this job?

Thanks a ton

All the facets in my home have very hot water, besides my shower. The bottom comes out real hot but when the shower is on I get luke warm at best, any reason why?

Water heater less than 4 month old.

What happens if you don't rake your leaves in your back yard? We got a fence so we don't have to worry about it blowing into our neighbords yards, but is it okay to not rake them?

We inherited our house after my husbands grandfather died. We know very little because it was a rental property. It was built in the 60s or 70s. We have a thermastat in each room that is round and you turn it clockwise to adjust the temperature. When the heating kicks on, you can hear fluid flushing through. We don't have a furnace or a boiler. We have a normal hot water tank. Also, do we have to do anything maintanance wise with this. Recently I found a small patch of mold on our ceiling and I'm just wondering if the pipes cracked or if my gutters were overflowing because of all the leaves. We will be cleaning the gutters tomorrow morning but what else should we do? We looked in the attic and the old insulation on that side of the house looks a bit moist. Do we need to replace all that or will it dry out. Note: The ceiling was not soft, nor was the drywall. I do remember that our roof was just replaced about 4-5 years ago so it shouldn't be that! Thanks!

There was water damage to my house and when I went to remove my old baseboards some of the plaster just crumbled leaving gaping holes. I need to put up new baseboards, but don't have much to nail them to.

I am looking at buying a house which is empty but one of the rooms has a ceramic tiled floor and the grout has furred/foamed up and is white in colour.
The seller says the foamy stuff is because the builder/bodger used the wrong grout?

Can any one shed any light on this

Cheers

My floor was installed fifteen years ago; has become dull and the grout, originally sand in color, has darkened. I would like to strip the dirt and either reseal or polish the floor.
