Mold is very unhealthy..I would highly recommend replacing the carpet. If this is a high moisture area, the same issue may happen even with new carpet,
To clean it, you first need to kill the mold..maybe spray with a light peroxide solution (brown container in the drug store). I would then scrub (brush( with diluted Tide (w/bleach alternative). Rinse and dry with a fan,,,

carpet shampooers can actually creat more mold because the water sets in the carpet and air drys. it can also cause damage to the floors beneath it. i don't recommend them for anything including mold.

If the carpet isn't furry, and you do not scent something remarkable, tell your mom, "The carpets effective". And get the dogs experienced, or which will reason an smell. She's old adequate to be thoroughly housebroken.

Get a cup of lemon juice and a half a cup of laundry powder .. add that to a bucket of water and get a scrub brush and scrub it for a few minutes. it should come out and smell clean. Its cheap and won't ruin the carpet.

Worldsour gave you great advice with your problem..I would recommend after following his advice, sprinkle a carpet deodorizer powder on the carpet like "Arm and Hammer" with baking powder. It will absorb odors.leaving your carpet fresh. It also comes in many fragrances too...Good luck !

Try sprinking Bi-Carb of Soda liberally, leave for a while and brush off, or better still vacuum. Hope that helps.
