Most likely dirt and grease, if not the air/gas mixture is adjusted just before the burner. The only other possibility is inadequate gas pressure, not likely.

The color of the flame is related to the heat of the flame. Blue is the hottest then red, orange, and yellow. If the flame is only orange then you need to get it checked out it may be clogged or have debris/build up in the lines.

it means that it is getting too high of an air mix probably gas jet clogged keeping enough gas from getting in with the air and giving out a nice blue flame

.If the flame is only orange then you need to get it checked NOW
as it is not working and you may need to have a new one.
if you are felling tyred or drowsy when the fire is on then DO NOT have it on until you have it looked at

your lines at the stove are dirty and need to be cleaned.

if its a range, its spillage of grease etc.,

if a furnace, its dust etc....

That its not burning correctly.So the air needs to be adjusted.
