My yard stays wet after it rains. Someone told me that WEEPING WILLOW TREES suck up water from the ground. Is this true, and do you think if i plant a few it might somewhat help my problem.

i was thinking even one of those stove ones with the pipes, where they may be able to just cut a small round hole in one of my walls and have the pipe run up the side of my house? Does that work? Of course it would be nice to have a full flegged fireplace and chimney made of stone or brick also. Thank you!

I live in a rented apartment. The management has lately been very inefficient in responding to work orders. My dishwasher has been out of commission for one week and I have been doing my dishes manually. The maintenance person checked my dishwasher and has ordered a new part. I was given false assurances that the matter will be taken care of in a day or two. It is almost a week now and I had to spent Thanksgiving doing all the dishes by hand.

Am I entitled for a one time rent deduction for the inconvenience and if so, what is a reasonable amount?

My house structure was completed 9 years back. The plastering work was done 4 years back. After 2 years of plaster work, thin cracks were noticed at most of the corners near the concreted cielings. This need to be corrected. White cement is not found effective. Can anyone suggest a remedial action? I am told that the thin cracks appear when paper boards did not get placed on the wall top before concreting was pored. Is there any potential danger to the building? Believe me no crack was detected on the walls prior to plastering work.

I read that there is a product I can buy that allows you to convert a porch light fixture into an outlet. I guess you screw it in like a light bulb. You can then both plug things into it and still screw in a light bulb.

What is the brand name of this product? How does it work exactly? How much does it cost? And do I find it at a hardware store?

Anybody know how to make insulated curtains? These are very high in stores and I was wondering if there is a way to make them yourself for a fraction of the cost.

I got an apt in a great location, but i am still worried. (prob from watching CSI dvd today) i have one lock on the front door and a lock on the slidding glass door. It would be real easy for someone to just break the glass and get it. Is there some kind of alarm i can put on the windows, glass sliding doors and front door that would make a real loud sound if someone tried to break in?

I just moved into a new (really old) house that looks as if it hasn't been painted in 30 years or so. The walls are filthy!!!!!! I've tried many things, but can't really get the filth off.
How can I clean them? (in detail)
How clean do they need to be before I apply primer?
I have peeling on my doors, how do I remove this?
I also have peeling wallpaper, how do I remove this? Do I need to remove all of it?
Thanks : )

I haven’t bought a tree yet, but debating when I should pick one up. They are on sale now, but will it rot or go dry, creating a fire hazard? Because they are already cut down, even if I wait, it still will be the same amount of moisture in the tree. Am I correct? Please enlighten me if you know. Thanks!

Moved to this house 3 years ago, but this is the first time the tree does this. Every morning, I wake up to a driveway and car completely covered in sticky sap. I can see white bubbles on the upper branches, which appear to be where it is coming from. Is there any reason why it is suddenly doing this? Will it stop?
