My house structure was completed 9 years back. The plastering work was done 4 years back. After 2 years of plaster work, thin cracks were noticed at most of the corners near the concreted cielings. This need to be corrected. White cement is not found effective. Can anyone suggest a remedial action? I am told that the thin cracks appear when paper boards did not get placed on the wall top before concreting was pored. Is there any potential danger to the building? Believe me no crack was detected on the walls prior to plastering work.

There is a reasonably new product called a latex additive for concrete. You can take some plain concrete, white or gray (not mixed with sand) and mix it with the additive only (do not use any water, sand or anything else). Don't mix but a little at a time because it sets up real fast. Fill your cracks with this. Be sure to trowel as smooth as desired because when this sets up it harder than concrete and can't be sanded or smoothed later.
The additive will make it stick like glue and also makes it really strong.

The building is settling due to frost in the ground, the building is settling from the ground being disturbed when the house was put on it and the ground pushed back in around it. It hasn't had time to really "settled" or go back to where it was originally, you might say. Therefore some showing is coming out in the paint on the interior.

YOUR FOUNDATION IS SETTLING. IF YOU'VE HAVE A BASEMENT DO YOU HAVE IT FINISHED OR DOES IT STILL LOOK LIKE A BASEMENT. YOU MAY NEED SUPPORT EITHER BUY PLACING DIVIDER WALLS OR POLE JACKS UP. YOU WON'T SOLVE YOUR CRACK PROBLEM UNTIL YOU DO SOMETHING FOR MORE YOUR LACK OF SUPPORT PROBLEM.
