Tear your butt to the local convienance store, grocery or 24 hour Wal-Mart....buy 2 cans of Ozium, spray sparingly it can get overwhelming and is VERY concentrated.
Or if no Ozium on the shelf, buy car air freshener concentrated spray.
If you are about to get busted by say your parents, it might help to get in the kitchen (provided you might normally do this) and start up cooking something with onions, anything, just so you have an excuse to cut onions into small pieces....maybe an omlette, spagetti sauce, whatever.....if you need an overwhelming onion smell then cook them alone first very slowly.
I wouldn't go with any standard air fresheners if you are hiding the odor due to it being obvious from the scents they leave.
Best bet=Ozium, if not = car air freshener in the "new car" scent, it isn't obvious.

I did this with a leather sleeper sofa once. I don't think I'd try it with a fabric one; there is just too much fiber to trap the smell. First, I left it outside in the hot summer sun for several days to air out (sunlight also kills odors). Then I pulled out all the stuffing from the cushions, sprayed them with Febreeze, let it dry in the sun, repeated the Febreeze bath twice more, and restuffed the cushions. Even still, there is a faint residual odor. You may never be able to get enough of the smell out of it, and if anyone in your household has allergies or asthma, this sofa may affect their breathing.

Put fabric softener sheets under cushions or run your clothes dryer with fabric softener on a wet towel, open your vent allowing the wonderful fragrance to flow thru the house and not outside.

Try placing a bowl of water on the table.
This is an old remedy.
A little saying " oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practise to deceive".
Words thrown our way by mother in childhood.
Take care!

You shouldn't be having a party anyway - you got yourself in, you get yourself out of this mess.

Nah! jokes. You just open all the windows and doors, thats the best and most efficient way of getting rid of it.

always be prepared, buy some air freshener (spray one) beforehand and also you should keep all windows and doors open and after half an hour to 1 hour, close the doors and windows and spray the air freshener to all rooms for 30 sec to 1 min in each room.

Some good answers. I would advise you pay close attention to the drapes, upholstered furniture, carpeting, any fabric. They are storehouses for odors.

shake'n'vac or candles

If you're really desperate, fry a load of onions and say you've been cooking! good luck.

You have to open the fan, if you have one, and keep the doors open. If you don't have one, then good luck to you.
