I got an apt in a great location, but i am still worried. (prob from watching CSI dvd today) i have one lock on the front door and a lock on the slidding glass door. It would be real easy for someone to just break the glass and get it. Is there some kind of alarm i can put on the windows, glass sliding doors and front door that would make a real loud sound if someone tried to break in?

Oh yes, there are a variety of alarms out there which can do this and some are quite affordable. There are motion detector alarms which is pretty self-explanatory. There are alarms which use a magnet that mounts to your door/window and cause the alarm to go off if the door / window is opened. And there are alarms which mount primarily on window glass which sound off if they detect too much vibration on the glass.

For examples of some of what is avaialbe, check out this site:

Please note that I am not recommending this site. It's just so you can see some of what's out there. If you need more help selecting something, give me a yell.

Breaking the glass would make a noise and draw attention.
Also try not to let fear rule you ask yourself how would I fend for myself if anything happened.
Fear immobelises !
Have a piece of four by two on hand get them before they get you the element of surprise.
Maybe you could approach the local police station and ask for some tips.

yes, contact a local vendor for alarms that will alert police as well as make a loud racket.. or you can get a cheaper version at like Wal-Mart that will just make an ear-piercing screem

There are small battery powered "shock alarms" available on the net.
