I want to paint stripes below the chair rail in the kid's room. I have BLUE Painter's masking tape. Do I peel the tape off while the paint is wet, semi-dry or dry?

The Blue tape is great around windows and edges, but for flat graphic design like stripes (where there are no corners, Windows or edges), it seems a bit risky in peeling some paint off too.

I'm afraid if I use WD-40, it will collect dirt and eventually gunk up the lock.

I painted the Primer, followed with Top Coat (about 7 hour gap) on the garage floor only to realize the Clear Coat I had bought is crap, how long do I have.

P.S. Just to make sure is the Rustoleam Premium Clear Coat bad?

I recently bought my first home. It's close to 90 years old and I love it. It isn't, however, without problems. While the basement is mostly dry, it has had leaks. These leaks have caused the wood of my basement staircase to rot. The loosened staircase is now pulling down some of the main beams in my house... I need to fix it soon!

Where do I start? Is this something that I can handle with a friend who has some background in framing/working on houses?

A heavy rain took with it the dirt under a corner of the newly poured foundation. Several inches in.... there is no support for this corner. The builder will just push dirt under where it washed away and bury the foundation part that is over exposed. Should I be worried about this? Seems like it should not have happened.
