In a strict sense you don't need a "contractor" at all.

The issue however is in knowing load bearing, electrical or plumbing issues, and what the eventual intent is,,, allowing that the tear down serves a purpose and will be crafted after the fact, to that purpose.

Costs vary. I charge between $25 and $40 per hour for my services.

You need remodeling contractor. You'll have to ask each contractor if they do remodeling. The price is determined by what you are asking for. Do you want the wall torn down and that's it? Do you want to do the clean-up, or have the contractor do it? What size is the wall? How soon do you want it done? All these things factor into the price. Of course, the less work you want done, the less you'll have to pay.

call somebody who does drywall. Have them provide you an estimate for patching the present partitions. a sturdy drywall guy can patch all holes and cracks and make the partitions seem rather much new. no count if it rather is set that it would be greater desirable to easily demo and submit new drywall, then they might could ruin the plaster into workable products with hammers and lease a dumpster and get rid of all the plaster. Then drywall may be put in over the studs. you additionally can prefer to function insulation interior the partitions on account that they're opened and it rather is a sturdy time to function wall shops or something you may prefer. i might advise patching the present partitions. it would be plenty swifter, simpler, and greater fee-effective, until eventually the partitions have mildew issues or are extremely broken or wavey. Plaster additionally stands up the abuse plenty greater desirable than drywall, so it rather is greater desirable to pass away up the unique partitions. Get some costs and don't pass with the main inexpensive because of the fact they might basically take benefit of you or be flakey.

I would find a Handyman.
I would do the electrical removal, remove the wall, clean up then take it all to the dump. also could deal with any plumbing issues.

I could easily do this for an average size wall of about7-10 feet long for about $200
