DRYER IS NOT GETTING HOT, WHAT CAN IT BE

Check your vent going to the outside and the duct around the lint filter. Many times the dryer is still heating but with the vent blocked it does not seem to be.

There are also thermal fuses that will open when there is improper air flow to eliminate the possibility of fire and protect the heating elements. There are other things that can cause no heating such as a wire burned off and a bad timer or a bad heating element.

Since you did not provide the make and model number I cannot be more specific.

Check you dryer vent then check the hose that runs from your dryer to the vent.If the hose gets full of lint it won't dry @ all. I have to clean my hose out at least every 3 months.
NOTE: A vent and hose that aren't cleaned out regular can become a fire hazard.

Usually it's the element that's gone. you can unplug and open the back of the dryer and remove and replace it. It is a coiled part. Order a replacement by brand cerial and or model #. Mine has been replaced twice in 17 yrs. It works great. Good luck.

8 chances out of ten it's your heating coil in rear, 1 chance it's the thermostat or last chance your vent pipe is plugged up somewhere from bottom of dryer to the outside vent cap.
turn off power before checking any of this. look at heating coil if there is any breaks in it = replace it. if its okay keep going to next step. good luck itch

Is is not working or not heating? Most common problem is vent blocked with lint. Do a little more investigative work to figure out the problem so you won't waste money by calling the wrong repair person.
