I think that It would be just fine to wash it . Use a gentle detergent and cycle. Dry 1/3 of the way and line dry the rest. a fabric softener will help keep its shape.

I'm not sure I would use Tide, as it is a petroleum distillate. I think I'd use a friendlier detergent, like Amway or Simple Green, that would not leave residue that could react with sweat and abrasion. You might want to go to the laundromat and use the big washer there, as the blanket is not going to flex the way clothes would, and you don't want to damage your washer, while at the same time, you want free movement and good rinsing. Also, you will not BELIEVE the horse hair that will clog your trap after you've washed saddle blankets and horse blankets in your machine.....you'll have enough to make another horse!

I'm not sure. But to be safe, I would probably hand wash it and hang it up to dry.

on cold, light soap, an in a lingerie bag...then air fluff on cool
