A office type, brown leather, computer chair. Definitely improved my life. It has wheels and I can move about in the room, and to other rooms if necessary. It is large in size, and gives me enough room when I do my crochet, to place my yarn beside me and room to comfortably move my arms. I am happy with that purchase. Cleans easily as well

I was at a garage sale one year and the lady wanted to get rid of her coffee table it cost me 200.00 however it is a 7 ft long piece of redwood burl stump that was cleared off of private land after lightening killed the tree it is about 6 inches think and freeform with a high polish and fantastic grain it looks beautiful and it allows me to talk to people about conservation of redwoods even though I have some as a table. The way in whichit was harvested was reasonably "green" and it is a great conversation piece.

One I made myself - a five-foot long blanket chest, on castors, that sits at the bottom of the bed. Great for storing things like the thick duvet during the summer, and all those blankets that will never get used again. I built it from the ground up, and the flat base with castors made a great skateboard, even if it was a little on the large side.

I bought a cheap £14 pine chest for the lounge and threw the coffee table out. The chest gave me much needed extra storage space and can still be used for coffee cups, etc.

A vanity. Also known as a make up table. It has it's purpose and is very user friendly - accomodiates a lighted make up mirror, a drawer for cosmetics, storage areas for hair accessories and often the stools even have storage in them.
My daughter loved it as well and came to my room to do her make up --- so I bought her one as well!
Would not want to be without it!

A bed. The day I brought my first bed. After years of sleeping on a given bed by a friend, and though grateful as I was there was nothing quite like having my own bed and one that was of my taste.

I bought a 1938 Zenith radio, one of those huge wooden things, back in '85. Didn't really improve my life, but my boy liked it, so I gave it to him.

A futon. I use it as a bed and couch. I watch out who sits on it though.
