apartment question...?

I live in an apartment and had the maintenance guys come in on a friday when i went out of town. I came home to find the work not done yet they had gone through everything i own and even took a vibrator! This is sick and i want to know what rights i have in this whole thing. thanks

ugh! Now the apartments are just letting the guy go after today. They said that since there is no concrete proof that he is the one that took it, yet he is the one that signed the receipt saying he was in the apartment "shampooing carpets". This sucks!!!

Report at once to your landlord and the police. Many cities have a rental assistance and legal advice line that you can look up in the phone booth or talk to a local realtor. Real estate people hate this kind of thing and will be more than willing to give you info about your local laws and support systems. If you don't report this... The guys that did it might think you are a soft touch and come back!!! full disclosure is the safest thing that you can do. don' wait or hesitate. This is real serious. Call the Cops first. not a 911 call. Just call the local office and talk to the dispatcher. he or she will let you know what to do. Be serious about this and good luck.

First thing I recommend is meeting with the Property Manager. They should take your complaint seriously and investigate. Most reputable management companies also have a Regional Manager in the home office who will listen to your complaint and investigate. Try to find the management company's website and use the 'contact us' option to send an email. Written complaints get the most attention.

you need to report to the landlord and call the police to fill out a report. I had something like that happen at the apartment I lived in. The maintance man was arrested for burglary
